Putting music in the hands of children and a lifetime of love in their hearts.

IN MEMORY OF JILL MULLIN

Jill Mullin, born February 5, 1980, grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and developed an interest in music early in her life, beginning piano lessons at

the age of 7. As she grew up, her skill and passion continued to develop as she performed at numerous recitals, for school and church functions, at her grandmother’s nursing home, and even attended

the Midwestern Music Academy at the University of Kansas. Jill’s love for the piano was a cornerstone of her life and the sounds of her performing works by Beethoven, Chopin and various others could be

heard often in her family’s home.

A tragic accident befell Jill in February 2000 when  she collided head-on with a semi-truck on a drive  back to Kirksville, Missouri, where she attended  Truman State University. Jill suffered a traumatic  brain injury. As a result, she fought through many  years of rehabilitation to redevelop a number  of  physical capabilities. Even through her brain injury,

one of the abilities that Jill maintained was her talent of playing the piano, specifically remembering some of the complicated pieces that she knew by memory before the accident. Playing the piano became part of Jill’s rehabilitation process, and music proved again to be a vastly important part of her life.

Jill passed away in her sleep on August 14, 2010. To commemorate her lifelong love for music and the piano, her family requested that Jill’s friends and family make memorial contributions to Music 4 Jeremy’s Cherubs.

If you would like to make a donation in Jill's memory, a donation link can be found on the contact us page.  Donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 13523 Overland Park, KS 66282-3523.  Please make checks out to Music 4 Jeremy's Cherubs.

Family of Jeremy S. Frye - June 6, 2009

Music 4 Jeremy’s Cherubs continues the work started by Jeremy S. Frye, a lifelong musical student who lost his life in 2008 to a brain tumor.  Jeremy graduated from Baker University and had prepared to begin his first teaching job, giving back to the children and youth what he had gained.  He was an accomplished saxophonist, pianist, and vocalist whose zest for life spilled out to everyone around him.  M4JC brings together a wide variety of family , friends, musicians, and educators dedicated to carrying out Jeremy’s vision of bringing music into the lives of needy children.

His family and friends are committed to carrying on his work and fulfilling his dreams by bringing music into the lives of children and youth, regardless of their ability to find their own support.  We are a growing network of friends and groups who see the importance in Jeremy’s vision.  Our foundation, Music 4 Jeremy’s Cherubs, works to find resources to support that vision.
